The Electoral Commission (EC) has disqualified Ghana Freedom Party’s Phillip Appiah Kubi also known as Roman Fada from contesting in the upcoming presidential elections.
Providing reasons for the disqualification, the Electoral Commission said it detected a number of errors and illegalities on his nomination forms.
“There were also illegalities on the forms,” TV3’s Crosby Annan reported the Commission as saying, on Tuesday.
The Commission clarified that it would maintain the presidential ballot as it is.
Although the EC provided an opportunity for the party to correct the errors, the Commission noted it does not lie in its bosom to allow candidates to correct errors on nomination forms, hence the disqualification.
Prior to Akua Donkor’s death, Philip was the Vice-Presidential candidate of the party.
