The Black Queens will next month intensify preparations for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with a training tour to Senegal.
Announcing this on Tuesday, March 4, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) said the tour will feature two international friendly matches with the Teranga Lionesses in Dakar.
Senegal are also preparing for the tournament to be held in Morocco, having been drawn to play the hosts, Zambia and DR Congo in Group A.
The two friendly matches between the two West African sides will be played within days of each other, according to the GFA.
The tour is expected to be used by Head Coach Kim Lars Björkegren to assess his players ahead of the Cup of Nations.
The Queens are returning to the tournament after missing out the 2022 edition.
They are drawn in Group C to face South Africa, Mali and Tanzania.
They recently travelled to Casablanca to engage Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses in a friendly match that ended 1-0 in favour of the hosts.
