Legendary Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face or 2Baba, has issued a public apology to his wife and politician, Natasha Idibia over his recent controversial comments about infidelity.

In an interview on Mzansi podcast with media personality Nedu, 2Face openly stated that he does not believe a man can be sexually committed to just one woman, citing biological reasons for his statement.

His comment went viral attracting criticisms from fans, gender rights advocates and public figures who described 2Face’s statement as misogynistic, inconsiderate, and reckless—especially coming from someone with such a significant influence.

2Face took to social media to issue an apology in a video posted via his Instagram handle, admitting that he “messed up” and prepared to bare the consequences.

“I know I messed up with what I said, and I know I’m going to get cancelled because of it. I know I’m going to pay a heavy price,” he wrote.

He apologized for any discomfort his remarks may have brought to his family, supporters, and most importantly, his wife, Natasha.

2Face agreed that his expression was misguided and wrong, but added that he only sought to explain his understanding of the behaviour of men.

“I said what I said because I wanted people to get my understanding. However, there’s no excuse for those comments. I take full responsibility for my words and I am sorry for disappointing the millions of people who look up to me,” he stated.
