Ghana’s most impactful changemakers took center stage at the MTN Heroes of Change Season 7 awards.

Decades of consistent commitment to humanity finally got the applause it deserves. From lifesaving gender violence interventions to media-driven community rescue missions, the heroes continue to prove that real change starts at the grassroots.

The spotlight also shone brightly on institutions rewriting the rules of social impact.

3 Foundation was adjudged the Media Hero for its crisis response and education initiatives. 3 Foundation received GHS 30,000, a citation, and a plaque for turning media influence into tangible action.

Accepting the award, 3 Foundation’s Manager, Mr. Carl Nii Addo, dedicated the honor to all viewers & listeners of Tv3 and 3FM, for their support.

Mr. Nii Addo also implored the general public to help 3 Foundation to assist communities within Ketu South affected by recent tidal waves, vowing to scale up support.

“This recognition fuels our mission. From disaster relief to education, we won’t stop until no Ghanaian is left behind,” he said.

The night’s top honor went to Dr. Angela Dwamena Aboagye, founder of The Ark Foundation, for her 25-year battle against domestic and sexual violence. Her shelters and legal aid programs have become a beacon of hope for thousands, earning her the title of Overall Hero of Change.

In the sector awards, Martha Opoku Agyemang (Health), Adangabey Yaw Rockson (Education) and Sakina Mumuni (Economic Empowerment) each received GHS 60,000 and plaques for their transformative work.

The ceremony also debuted the Digital Hero Award won by Nana Tea and the Bus Stop Boys for using social media to rally aid for the vulnerable a testament to Ghana’s Change.

MTN Ghana’s CEO, Stephen Blewett, tied the awards to national progress: ‘True development hinges on local innovation. At MTN, we’re committed to empowering these heroes because their success is Ghana’s success.”

From gender rights champions to media mobilizers, MTN Heroes of Change Season 7 has again shown that Ghana’s future is being built by those who dare to act.
