The President, John Dramani Mahama, has reemphasised the need for unity among the citizenry to achieve the common purpose for a prosperous Ghana.
John Mahama says the call for unity is vital in reliving the dreams of the nation’s forebears in this generation.
According to him, the pronouncement is not a mere promise but a call to action.
Speaking at the Jubilee House Thursday, March 06, 2025, on the occasion of Ghana’s 68th Independence Day anniversary, John Mahama admonished the citizenry to know, that the moment was a time to live above fears to bring out the best in them to create a future that everybody would be proud of.
He concluded that the sacrifice that would be made today is what would chart a course for the unborn generation to benefit, reiterating the need to see it as a call to national duty.
“One message stand clear; when people unite with a common purpose, nothing can stand in their way. As I said before Parliament, we shall live the dream of our forebears in our lifetime.
“This is not just a promise, it is a call to action. Let it be a reason to rise above fear, to silence the voices of doubt, and to harness the strength in us, to create a future that is fair, prosperous and inclusive.
“Let us move forward together, side by side, knowing that every sacrifice we make today will prepare the way for generations yet to come,” he reiterated.
Meanwhile, he also called on residents of Bawku and its environs to leave better memories of their vicinity for the younger generation than leaving them an atmosphere of conflict that will impede the progress in all facets of their lives.
