Seven people have died with 8 others including an infant sustaining various degrees of injuries in an accident at Gomoa Anteadze in the Central region.
It occurred when a sprinter bus they were traveling on from Mankessim towards Accra veered off the road into the bush.

According to the Central Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service, a passerby called the Apam station of the Service at about 8pm Thursday, January 12, 2023, to report the accident involving the sprinter bus with registration number GW 7920- 12.
Personnel from the GNFS, the Police and the National Ambulance Service went to the scene to help rescue victims who were trapped inside the bus.
The survivors were conveyed to a health facility whilst the dead were handed to the police for necessary action.
The cause of the accident is yet to be known.
