Franklin Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has indicated that the two term of office by President Akufo-Addo has been nothing but a failure.

He says the NPP after taking over from the NDC gradually dwindled the fortunes of the State by failing to consolidate the gains his party left for the nation.

According to Fifi Kwetey, “over the last 8 years, what we have seen has been a systematic degradation of our nation.”

Speaking at the launch of the party’s Manifesto at Winneba Saturday, August 24, 2024, Fifi Kwetey stated that the NDC handed over the country to the NPP at a stage where the nation was on the path of progress.

However, when the NPP manned the administration of the State, it has done nothing but to degrade the nation from where it was to the state where many Ghanaians are finding it difficult to make ends meet.

“A nation that was on a path of transformation has systematically be brought to a level which today, hope is gone and opportunity to our young ones has virtually vanished,” he stated.

He, meanwhile, assured that the manifesto his party is going to unveil will provide policies that will provide hope for the citizenry.

“We are going to be listening to the unveiling of a new set of policies that will bring hope to our country again and set this country anew towards restoring our country to where it ought to be,” he assured.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is launching its 2024 Manifesto today, Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the University of Education, Winneba.

Former President and flag bearer of the party, John Dramani Mahama, has said the party’s 2024 manifesto launch today marks the first step to liberating the country from challenges that have held the nation back for too long.

It also marks “the first step towards resetting our dear nation, Ghana”, he said in a brief promotional video released a day to the launch, Friday, August 23, 2024.

The theme for the manifesto launch is Change to Reset Ghana.

In his message, Mahama said, “tomorrow we take the first step towards resetting our dear nation Ghana. We face challenges that have held us back for too long, but now it’s time to build the Ghana we all want together. Join me from Winneba in the Central region as I unveil a vision for our future that will bring justice, jobs, and prosperity to every corner of our beloved nation, Ghana. Tomorrow, we begin the journey together.”

The event has drawn party bigwigs and the rank and file to fill the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Auditorium which is hosting the launch.

The event is being spearheaded by the flag bearer and his running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
