Private legal practitioner, Martin Luther Kpebu, has dared the Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah, to publish the Cecilia Dapaah docket handed her outfit by the OSP.
He says making the document public will confirm or otherwise, if there is nothing substantial in the file.
The EOCO was handed a responsibility to conduct a probe into allegations of money laundering against former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah.
The matter was handed to EOCO by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) after suspecting money laundering in the corruption and corruption-related allegations levelled against the woman for stashing huge sums of monies in her house.
After tasking EOCO, whose mandate it is to probe matters of money laundering regarding government officials, it consulted the Office of the Attorney-General for advice and was subsequently advised against carrying out the investigation.
The EOCO, had stated among other things that the file handed it by the OSP contained nothing substantial as a basis for probe.
But Martin Luther Kpebu, who has filed a petition with Daniel Domelevo, a former Auditor-General and Prof. Ransford Gyampo, for Parliament to probe the matter says the Executive Director of EOCO is fond of protecting the ruling government when matters of corruption that will undermine the administration’s reputation come up.
He has been explaining to Nana Yaa Brefo on Onua FM’s Yen Nsempa, how Maame Yaa Tiwaah in several instances chose to protect the interest of the NPP at the expense of the state.
