Hopeson Yaovi Adorye, a leading member of the Movement for Change has “promised” an Executive Secretary in the NPP administration that he will be trekking in court when the Akufo-Addo government leaves power.

According to him, his arrest was orchestrated by the said Executive Secretary and has promised him of his incapacity to cause him any harm should the NPP leave office.

Hopeson Adorye was arrested and detained by the police for comments he made on Accra FM indicating that he detonated some dynamites in the Volta region during the 2016 elections to scare people from voting.

The comments, which Mr. Adorye has clarified, according to him, was a strategy they adopted in neighbouring Togo and not Ghana, to win the elections.

However, the former NPP member says “after someone becoming an Executive Secretary through the elections I helped the party win, he masterminded my arrest for comments I have been repeating on air for some years now.”

Speaking with Yaa Titi Okrah on Onua TV’s Maakye Wednesday, May 29, 2024, Mr. Adorye said he will let the law take its course with the dossiers he has about the Executive Secretary when the NPP leaves office.
