Jacob Kofi Ampomah, father of the three-year-old boy who died in the crash involving actor Lil Win has opened up about details of what happened to his son.
Richard Tawiah Ampomah tragically lost his life after his father’s vehicle crashed with actor Lil Win’s Mercedes on Saturday, May 25 at Amakom in Kumasi.
Amidst the tragic incident, there were reports that Jacob’s son was allegedly seated in the front seat when the incident happened. Many Ghanaians including the actor’s Public Relations Officer condemned the father for making his son occupy the front seat without safety regulations.
However, speaking in an interview with Pure TV, Mr. Kofi Ampomah clarified that his son was not seated in the front seat when the crash happened.
He narrated that contrary to the reports, his son was seated in the back seat although he was a bit closer to him and was thrown to the front seat when his car collided with Lil Win’s vehicle.
“My son was seated in the back seat although he was not too far from me but he was in the back when the accident happened. When the accident happened, it threw him from the back to the front. I saw him lying beside me in the front seat,” he said in the interview.
Mr. Ampomah also disclosed that medical doctors have told him that he requires surgery to be able to walk again because he’s suffered a fracture.
“Doctors say I need a surgery. They said some of the bones have been broken and I have been given two weeks and come back for a surgery,” he added.
Before the premiere of his movie titled “A Country Called Ghana’, in Kumasi, Lil Win and some members of his team were involved in a gory accident on Saturday, May 25 that led to the death of a 3-year-old boy.
The father of the deceased was also hospitalised and treated for a fractured leg. He has since been discharged and recovering.
