The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has assured journalists across the country that his next administration will make sure they go about their duties without fear.
Speaking at a media engagement in Ho on the fourth day of his Volta Regional tour, Mr. Mahama assured the the only gift he can give to journalists is that he will pave way for them to do their work without interference.
According to him, this government has not given journalists their freedom to operate as the Fourth Estate of the realm.
He cited an example of Ahmed Suale, who “was murdered for no reason and nothing has been done about it”.
“As a member of the Ghana Journalists Association, I can assure you that I will not in anyway interfere in your work,” the former President added.
