A former High Commissioner of Ghana to the United Kingdom, Victor Emmanuel Smith, is saying the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) does not deserve any platform to campaign in the country.
He thinks the party should be disqualified from the upcoming December polls because they have had all the opportunities to implement everything they are promising but failed.
After almost 8 years in office, Mr. Smith thinks the ruling party has turned Ghana’s economy into a junk state, and soliciting for Ghanaians’ votes should not be countenanced.
Speaking with Captain Smart at a special coverage of the NDC Manifesto launch Saturday, August 24, 2024, Victor Smith indicated that “they (NPP) should not be allowed to campaign. They should be disqualified because they had all the opportunity to transform the economy but rather, they turned it into a junk economy and are they now telling Ghanaians to vote for them?”
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is launching its 2024 Manifesto today, Saturday, August 24, 2024, at the University of Education, Winneba.
Former President and flag bearer of the party, John Dramani Mahama, has said the party’s 2024 manifesto launch today marks the first step to liberating the country from challenges that have held the nation back for too long.
It also marks “the first step towards resetting our dear nation, Ghana”, he said in a brief promotional video released a day to the launch, Friday, August 23, 2024.
The theme for the manifesto launch is Change to Reset Ghana.
In his message, Mahama said, “tomorrow we take the first step towards resetting our dear nation Ghana. We face challenges that have held us back for too long, but now it’s time to build the Ghana we all want together. Join me from Winneba in the Central region as I unveil a vision for our future that will bring justice, jobs, and prosperity to every corner of our beloved nation, Ghana. Tomorrow, we begin the journey together.”
The event has drawn party bigwigs and the rank and file to fill the Jophus Anamuah-Mensah Auditorium which is hosting the launch.
The event is being spearheaded by the flag bearer and his running mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
