Former President John Dramani Mahama insists he will not be a “clearing agent” when Ghanaians give him the chance to rule again as president.
In the second day of his campaign tour in the Greater Accra Region, the flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has turned himself into “a clearing agent” in that anytime an appointee of his is accused of corruption, he tends to clear them.
The former president made this known in an interaction with supporters at Nsakina in the Amasaman Constituency as part of his campaign tour.
He argued that the reason why the New Patriotic Party (NPP) want to break the eight is that they want the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who is part of the “Economic Mismanagement [Team]” to come and cover up the corruption that they have committed.
Mr Mahama, therefore, assured the people that he will not be a “clearing agent”.
And so anybody who gets the opportunity to serve in his government and accused of any wrong doing, he added, will be subjected to investigation.
