Founder and leader of All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has called for peace ahead of the 2024 elections.
He says the December 07 polls is a case study for the country, pointing out that “Ghana is the only country we all have, and we must all do everything to protect our nation.”
He has called for respect for each other, indicating that as a prerequisite for a peaceful election.
“When we begin to respect each other, understand each other, I don’t think selecting a president would be a problem for us to engage in war, fight, or anything,” he added.
Speaking at the launch of ‘Abatoɔ Asoɔeɛ‘, Onua TV and FM’s version of Election Command Centre Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the flag bearer of the APC also urged the media to be fair in its reportage.
He added that as a man of peace, he has always preached peace with each opportunity he gets and that’s what he wants his colleagues to do to ensure the polls do not derail Ghana’s milestone in democracy.
“This 2024 election is going to be a case study for us. To understand each other is about policies, and I want to entreat the media to be fair in their media activities and exchanging platforms. Platforms should be given to all political parties to be able to sell their policies and sell their vision to mother Ghana.
“I’ve been in this game since 2012. I understand the dynamics of this game. I preach peace all the time. Any opportunity I get, I preach peace, because I’m a peaceful man,” he stated.
