The bail application for 20 more Democracy Hub protesters has hit a snag.

Lawyers of the protesters on the morning of Tuesday, October 8 moved their motion for bail for:

  1. Kingsley Asiedu
  2. Seth Coffie
  3. Vera Gloria Louis
  4. Nii Quaye Hammond
  5. Dela Quarshie
  6. Manuel Barser Biney
  7. Dorsese Joseph
  8. Agbevi Mathias
  9. Ernest Acheampong
  10. The rest are Dorcas Sharifa
  11. Emmanuel Attah
  12. Alhassan Hudu
  13. Grace Asantewaa
  14. Raymsa Godwin Jones
  15. Isaac Agyapong
  16. Shadrach Amoah
  17. Otieku Alex
  18. Raymond Sefa Boakye
  19. Kallian Kofi Komashie
  20. Daniel Adjei

But the prosecuting State Attorneys indicated that they had filed affidavits in opposition to the bail. Justice Arma-Tetteh rebuked the State Attorneys for failing to show up in court during the bail application for the 13 which were brought before his court.

They indicated that they were unaware of the bail application hence their attendance to the applications in Criminal Court 4.

The Presiding judge then directed the prosecution to serve the documents to lawyers of the protesters since they had not yet received service.

The case has since been adjourned to Wednesday, October 9.

Both protesters in remand and those on bail will have their case heard at the Accra Circuit Court.
