John Dramani Mahama is asserting that the campaign advisors to the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahmoud Bawumia, do not want President Akufo-Addo to get involved in his crusade.
He says the President’s involvement in Bawumia’s campaign is something they are opposed to but cannot say it for obvious reasons.
According to him, things always get worse for the Vice President whenever President Akufo-Addo meddles in his campaign, something Bawumia’s advisors are not happy with.
Speaking at Afienya during the fourth leg of his Greater Accra campaign tour Thursday, October 17, 2024, John Mahama asked Akufo-Addo to concentrate on becoming a Statesman after his tenure of office and allow him to battle the upcoming polls with the Vice President.
“Campaign advisors of Bawumia do not want Akufo-Addo to campaign for him because anywhere he goes and opens his mouth, he makes Bawumia’s case worse. But they can’t tell you Nana. You’re going to be a Statesman after you finish so you go sit somewhere, leave the fight between Bawumia and Mahama, let us sort ourselves out,” he stated.
