Democracy has given Ghanaians the opportunity to change governments every four years and the flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, is urging Ghanaians to do same this December.
He says the government of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) deserves to be kicked out for the unprecedented failure in managing the country which has even affected the performance of the Black Stars.
According to John Mahama, the abysmal performance of the senior national team for the past two decades come as a result of the poor administration by Akufo-Addo and Bawumia which has affected everything in the country.
Mahama’s remarks come on the back of the Black Stars’ failure to qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, a record which has not been recorded for the past 20 years.
At Akyem Oda in the Eastern region Tuesday, November 19, 2024, John Mahama at a mini rally at the Akyim Oda lorry station admonished Ghanaians to vote for him and the NDC to restore hope to the country.
“We have lost everything. Even the Black Stars team, which we used as our source of entertainment, is now in its worst state.
“For the past 20 years, anytime it is time for AFCON, the Black Stars will take part. But we have failed to even make it through qualifiers. We allowed ourselves and the likes of Sudan, a war-torn country that has qualified for AFCON and Black Stars couldn’t. It is all because of the bad governance we have been subjected to for the past eight years.
“But democracy has allowed us to change government every four years. So, we have another opportunity on December 7 to change this government. Let’s do that peacefully,” he stated.
