A member of the National Democratic Congress in Asawase, Yakubu Adams, has donated over 30,000 cartons of assorted drinks, mineral water, and biscuits to 28 constituencies in the Ashanti Region.

The gesture is aimed at assisting NDC polling station agents during the December 7 general elections.

Yakubu, also known as Tony Aidoo, a scrap dealer, stated that the donation reflects his commitment to the party’s success in the 2024 elections.

“This is to motivate polling station agents and grassroots supporters to remain steadfast in their duties before, during, and after the elections. Many agents often face hunger while protecting the party’s ballots on election day, thus, these supplies would help boost their morale and productivity,” he said.

The former Communications officer for the NDC in Asawase appealed to other party members, particularly former appointees, to contribute to the party’s efforts during this critical period.

He urged them to leverage the resources and networks they gained while in government to help the NDC regain power in the December elections.

The Asawase NDC Chairman, Faisal Dauda, expressed appreciation on behalf of the beneficiary constituencies, commending Tony Aidoo for his generosity.

“This is timely and significant, particularly in fostering unity and support within the party.

“It is important that leadership of the party recognizes and empower the youth who demonstrate dedication and actively contribute to the party’s progress. This would inspire others to emulate their efforts”, Mr Dauda added
