Dr. Kwasi Amakye Boateng of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has said former President Mahama’s exposition on his vision for Ghana was not duly propagated as he expected.

Instead of highlighting more on what he has for Ghanaians, the political science lecturer says the presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) harboured some pain in him which reflected in his utterances.

Dr. Boateng says Mahama spent a lot of time speaking on the things the NPP accused him of which they did worse in their tenure, denying him the full energy he needed to sell his main vision for the nation.

Analysing the final rallies of the National Democratic Congress and the New Patriotic Party on Onua TV’s Ghana Decides Friday, December 06, 2024, he said John Mahama was “unduly vilified” by Akufo-Addo and Bawumia who came to do worse of the very things they criticised the former president and the NDC’s flag bearer for.

The KNUST senior lecturer noted that although it was not out of place for Mahama to speak about the bad deeds of the current administration, he thinks that took a much more better of him than expected.

“I saw some conflict in former President Mahama. He was espousing his vision but there was some pain in him. He can’t get it out of him. He was unduly vilified. Mahama could not separate himself from the pain in the things Nana Addo and Bawumia said about him the previous 8 years which they have come to do worse to profess his real vision to the citizens.

“It is necessary that he criticised the misdeeds of this government but it was equally important to have further articulated his vision for Ghana,” Dr. Amakye Boateng told host, Captain Smart, in Twi.

In a related development, he pointed out that the pronouncements of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia prior to becoming Vice President made his campaign much more difficult since his administration’s abysmal performance drove him away from whatever he spoke about whilst in opposition.
