The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a return to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League after almost a month of no action.
The Association announced a suspension of the League following the stabbing to death of Asante Kotoko fan Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley, at a game in Nsoatre in the Bono Region.
The unmistakably conspicuous fan was stabbed to death after Nsoatreman FC’s 1-0 win over Asante Kotoko at the Prof Amoah Koramansah II Park on Sunday, February 2.
The incident provoked the Porcupine Warriors to suspend all football-related activities, demanding justice from stakeholders and enhanced security at match venues.
On Monday, the club announced that they are happy with steps taken so far and will return to competitive football after Nana Pooley’s funeral, scheduled to be held on Thursday, March 6.

Therefore, the resumption of the League will be exactly 24 hours after the final funeral rites and burial.
However, the Association will continue with the timetable from Week 23 with the games for Weeks 20, 21 and 22 declared outstanding.
