Dr. Ishmael Yamson, Chairman of the National Economic Dialogue, has said it is time to reset Ghana from corruption and economic mismanagement.

The feat, he believes, as has been done in other jurisdictions, could be spearheaded by one person, which he believes President Mahama is the one with the wherewithal to lead that charge.

He expressed confident in President Mahama as the only leader capable of resetting Ghana’s economy and steering it towards sustainable growth.

Speaking at the day one of the two-day National Economic Dialogue Monday, March 03, 2025, Dr Yamson stressed the urgency of transformative leadership in addressing Ghana’s economic challenges.

He cited economic mismanagement and corruption as the two major impediments to national progress, stressing the need for a decisive and visionary leader to drive change.

“Someone must reset Ghana, and it can only be you [John Dramani Mahama]. Everywhere in the world that economic transformation has taken place, only one individual has led the charge, and the Lord has blessed you with the wisdom to take on that task,” he stated.

He stressed on the need for Ghana to break free corruption and poor governance for a long-term economic stability.

“It is time to liberate Ghana from economic mismanagement and corruption, to reset Ghana and put it on the path of sustainable and resilient growth,” he added.

The National Economic Dialogue, themed “Resetting Ghana: Building the Economy We Want Together,” brings together policymakers, economists, and industry leaders to explore strategies for revitalising the economy.
