A former member of the now-defunct 4×4 band, Captain Planet, has dismissed fans wishes for the group to get back together.

The hip-hop group, formed in 2000 by Captain Planet (Sylvanus Dodji Jeoffrey) and Coded, formerly known as Abortion (Russell Edem Avornyo), and later Fresh Prince (Prince Tamakloe), captured the hearts of Ghanaians with a series of hit songs and earned multiple award nominations and achievements.

However, the group ceased to exist around 2015, with both members shifting focus to their solo careers. Recently, fans appealed on social media for the group to return.

But Captain Planet has taken to his X page on April 21, 2025, to address the issue.

He stated that he and his colleague Coded are now too old to reunite and revive their music careers as a duo.

“Why everybody dey ask when 4×4 dey come back? Massa 4×4 no dey come back anywhere we too old to form a group again… Our job is done. Long time ago. No more 4X4. We are good as brothers,” he wrote.

Captain Planet urged fans to rather focus on enjoying their old songs, hinting that they might come back to perform on stage soon.

“Just enjoy our old tunes. We might be performing group songs along the line at some point, but the 4X4 group is not coming back again to make music together again. Everybody, get over it. We are too grown to handle our individual talents. We don’t have to be in a group before doing music,” he added.
