The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovation, Sam George and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Film Authority (NFA) has assured Nigerian producer and actress, Bimbo Ademoye of resolving issues about copyright violations and protect her intellectual property rights in Ghana.
This comes after the Nigerian filmmaker raised concerns about Ghanaian Television stations broadcasting her movies without authorization.
In a video that was shared on her Instagram page weeks ago, Bimbo Ademoye strongly cautioned against the continued use of her intellectual property without consent.
But while many Ghanaians supported her call for such piracy issues to end, others challenged her and disagreed with her concerns.
One of such persons was content creator and plus size advocate, Miz Debbie who called out Bimbo Ademoye telling her to be grateful because the Ghanaian television stations are rather promoting her content.

In a quick response to Miz Debbie, Bimbo Ademoye shared the video of Miz Debbie criticizing her over her call for action to be taken against the copyright violations.
In her post made on April 22, 2025, the filmmaker tagged the CEO of the NFA, Kafui Danku and Communication Minister, Sam George to intervene in the matter.
Sam George responded in the comment section stating that he had taken notice of the matter and would engage his colleague responsible for overseeing television content in Ghana.
He noted that government is committed to upholding intellectual property laws.
“My attention has been drawn to your post thanks to the tag. I would be raising the issue with my colleague minister responsible for overseeing television content.
“I, however wish to assure you that our government is very respectful of intellectual property rights and would ensure the protection of same. I believe Ghana and Nigeria have so much we can continue to collaborate on for our mutual benefit,” he wrote.
Kafui Danku also commented on the post, saying actions are being taken to address the matter urgently.
“Hi ma’am, my management and I are working on putting a stop to this. You should see definite actions in a couple of weeks,” she noted.
