The Ghana U-15 Boys team, affectionately known as the Black Comets, has etched their name into the semifinals of the third edition of the CAF African Schools Football Championship (ASFC).

Thursday’s 1-0 victory over South Africa at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium marked a significant milestone for the young Ghanaian talents.

Building on their impressive 2-0 opening win against Uganda, the Black Comet demonstrated their prowess with a narrow but crucial victory over the visiting South African side.

Ignatius Hagan’s decisive goal just before halftime proved to be the difference-maker, sending the home crowd into raptures.

With two wins from two games, Ghana has secured a spot in the semifinals, showcasing the team’s exceptional skill and determination.

Coach Kweku Danso’s side has been nothing short of phenomenal, leaving an indelible mark on the tournament.

The Black Comet’s next challenge awaits them in the form of North African side Algeria, who they will face on Thursday at 3 pm at the same venue.

With their sights set on hosting and winning the championship, Kweku Danso’s team will be gunning for a maximum three points to wrap up their group stage campaign.

Meanwhile the Ghana U-15 female team will be in action later on Thursday as they look to build on their winning start against Algeria.

They will wrap up their group phase matches against Benin and Malawi, seeking to follow the footsteps of their male counterparts with a strong performance.
