Rising star Mustapha Alufar Bokpin will be part of Ghana’s men’s relay team for the World Athletics Relays scheduled to take place in Guangzhou next month.
The US-based sprinter is the newest face in the team.
Ghana’s team was confirmed as part of the official entry list published by World Athletics on Friday, April 25.
Benjamin Kwaku-Azamati leads the six-member team, which also comprises Paris Games flagbearer Joseph Paul Amoah.
The rest are Barnabas Aggerh, Ibrahim Fuseini and Sean Safo-Antwi.
Conspicuously missing is Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, who made the 100m semi-finals at the last major event in Paris.
Alufar Bokpin joins the team with a season’s best of 10.13s in 100m. That time clocked at the Tennessee Invite on Saturday, April 5 is his personal best as well.
The World Athletics Relays is scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 10-11.
