Joshua Frederick Lartey, the President’s nominee for the Ayensuano District Chief Executive (DCE) position, has been overwhelmingly endorsed by the Assembly.

Out of 39 Assembly Members, 34 voted ‘Yes’ in his favor, securing the required two-thirds majority whilst 4 voted ‘No’ with one Assembly Member being absent.

His confirmation marks a key step in the district’s governance, as he takes office to lead development efforts.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Lartey pledged to exhibit good governance in fostering development in the area.

He has assured the people to be meticulous by engaging stakeholders to pursue the vision and policies of President John Dramani Mahama.

He has equally vowed to combat illegal mining and sand winning activities to safeguard farmlands in the area.

On education, Mr. Lartey has envisaged to ensure government establishes a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Ayensuano to help give the youth skills training.

He is optimistic the TVET school will also help to minimize teenage pregnancy in the area.

He took the opportunity to appreciate President John Mahama for giving him the chance to serve in his government.
