Reggae Dancehall music legend Emmanuel Andrew Samini has commended President Mahama and his government for going after former appointees of the ex-president Akufo-Addo who have allegedly stolen state funds.
Samini, a staunch supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) expressed his satisfaction with work done by the ORAL team, the Attorney-General and investigative agencies under the current administration.
In an interview with George Quaye on Joy Prime, June 18, 2025, Samini did not hold back on applauding how far government has investigated corruption-related offenses and brought charges against suspects.
He explained that despite his support for the NPP, he’s impressed by the actions taken by the Mahama-led administration to hold former appointees accountable.
“As I speak to you, currently what we are seeing I am a happy Ghanaian and I like the fact that people are being brought to book and justice is being served or it seems like justice is going to be served.
“I won’t sit down here and be walking on egg shells because I think that maybe a certain favourite of mine might be in trouble because there are issues,” he stated.
According to him, as a patriotic Ghanaian, it is his wish that public officials who misappropriate and steal state funds are made to face the full rigours of the law.
“I believe that if you are put in a public office, it is your responsibility to save Ghana and keep the public purse at heart but if you come and do anything dubious, you should be brought to book,” Samini said.
He added: “The President and the Judiciary system are doing a good job. So far, I would say that’s the area that I have seen a lot of action, anything else I think it is too early to throw too much light on.”
