Award-winning Nigerian actor, Jim Iyke has clarified that his post to express appreciation to fellow actor and producer, Kate Henshaw on her birthday has no sexual feeling attached.

Jim Iyke caused a stir with a birthday wish for Kate Henshaw on Instagram on July 22, 2025.

In his post, Jim Iyke said “F**k you, on behalf of my 23-year-old self for treating me like your baby brother when you knew all that time I wanted to hit that.”

He continued: “F””k you, coz when you finally lemme hit it, I was at the apex of my singular wildness and restlessness. You knew I had a great heart, but I was just crazy and dumb.”

These portions of his post sparked claims on social media about a possible relationship that may have existed between the two.

However, in an interview on 3FM Drive with Trigmatic, Thursday, July 24, 2025, Jim Iyke explained that his post had nothing to do with any sexual feeling for Kate Henshaw.

He emphasised that he was expressing his inner feeling and love for Kate as a sister and somebody who has been through the thick and thin with him in his life.

He noted that on Kate’s birthday, he took the opportunity to show gratitude and appreciation to the only woman who listens to him and does not judge him in his days of struggles and difficulty.

“I rarely say something I don‘t mean. I’ve known this person over two decades of my life, we’ve grown as friends and as brothers and sisters. There are few people in the world that I express myself around.

“What happened was a word play that was told in a comfort zone that two people or even lesser can resonate with. These are words that either resonate clearly in your heads and never find expression through your voice. You carry them forever and one day you say f**k it. Take a bet and let the world have a glimpse of how you feel about certain people.

“I know the feeling is mutual, there’s absolutely nothing sexual about it. It doesn’t even suggest someone I’m dating. This is my boy, clean and simple. This is somebody without judgement and reservation I can say this is what I am going through and they will give me the most honest advice that comes from only one place that God created, the female intuition,” Jim Iyke said.

He continued that his post was only to put out how he felt about Kate and does not portray and ulterior motives.

“It was a perspective so whatever you garnered from that, again I say f**k it,” he remarked.

Jim Iyke is currently in Ghana for the premiere of his movie titled ‘SIN” at the Silverbird cinemas in Accra on Friday, July 25, 2025.

The movie features himself together with others like Shaffy Bello, Kenneth Nwadike, Toke Makinwa, Charles Okocha, Chidi Mokeme, etc.
