William Ato Essien was CEO of defunct Capital Bank

The Court of Appeal has granted the embattled founder of the defunct Capital Bank, William Ato Essien, a 10 million cedis bail pending the appeal of his sentence.

The bail comes with two sureties and an order for Essien to deposit his passport with the court and report to the registrar once a month.

The court noted that his continued incarceration would cause him to suffer.
