The suspect involved in the fatal stabbing incident at Kinbu Senior High School has been arraigned before an Accra District court on Tuesday, August 5.
This follows his arrest on Saturday August 2nd by personnel from the Adabraka Police Station.
The 15-year-old form 1 student was allegedly stabbed during an altercation with his colleague.
The gravity of the situation was amplified on Thursday July 31st 2025 when a group of agitated youth reportedly stormed the school premises upon learning of Addib Alhassan’s demise.
Yussif Abdul Salam, an uncle to the deceased, had earlier issued a stern ultimatum to Kinbu Technical Senior High School authorities, stressing that they have until the close of Friday, August 1, 2025, to produce the student alleged to have attacked Addib or face legal action.
Meanwhile, MP for Korle Klottey Constituency, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings has condemned the incident, saying she was deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic event that occurred on Thursday, July 31, 2025, resulting in the loss of a young student.
She strongly condemned the act of violence and pledged to collaborate with the Ghana Police Service and other relevant authorities to ensure thorough investigations and justice.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings emphasized that violence has no place in schools and that children must feel safe in their learning environments.
She called for a reassessment of safety protocols within schools to prevent such incidents from recurring.
The Member of Parliament for the Klottey-Korle Constituency expressed her commitment to working with the Ghana Education Service, school authorities, community leaders, and security agencies to enhance safety and mental health support within schools.
Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings also extended her thoughts to the bereaved family, students, faculty, and the entire Kinbu SHS community during this period of grief.
