The burial rite for former Minister for Environment Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Murtala and former Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed—who lost their lives in the tragic Ghana Air Force helicopter crash in the Adansi-Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region on August 6, has been held.

The ceremony was held at the forecourt of the State House on August 10.

Islamic prayers were offered for the deceased after which the burial took place at Military Cemetery.

In line with Islamic tradition, Janazah prayers were held at the forecourt of the State House. It was presided over by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.

The ceremony was attended by President John Mahama, the Chief of Staff and the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
