Private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu has said that both Kennedy Agyapong and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are not fit to be flagbearers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He expressed the view that Dr Bawumia is not sellable whereas Ken Agyapong cannot be trusted to stand by what he says.
Speaking on the polls on the NPP flagbearer race that put former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of Ken Agyapong and the others, Kpebu said on the KeyPoints on TV3 Saturday, August 23, that “None of these names will be good for 2032, Bawumia will be too old. Nobody older than 63 will make it into 2032.
“Bawumia will be 70 years old at the time, and we will not try that again. Kennedy Agyapong will make so much noise, but as to whether he can stand for what he says is another thing.
“He claims he is self-made, but it is a government contract that made Ken Agyapong rich. Agyapong should come and show us how he made money; he is not a self-made man as he touts himself to be. It’s a government contract. All of us can become rich when we get government contracts.”
He further urged the NPP to start preparing Okaikoi Central lawmaker Patrick Yaw Boamah and Ofoase Ayirebi MP Kojo Oppong Nkrumah to take over the leadership of the party.
“They should be looking at Patrick Boamah, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah. Bawumia should choose a younger Christian and try to sell that to the party. Bawumia is not sellable. He delivered next to nothing.”
