National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, is admonishing members of the party to remain united to help the party attain its vision of resetting the country.
He has urged members of the party who are yet to receive any appointment to remain calm as measures are in place to ensure everyone who deserves a position in the administration is settled.
The party Chairman, speaking during a meeting with branch and constituency executives, ward coordinators, former party officials, cadres, and Assembly members in the Asuogyaman constituency, he told them to remain patient as their toil will be rewarded.
His visit was part of a three-day ‘Thank You’ tour of the Eastern region, following the NDC’s election victory in December 2024.
On the appointment of party members, General Mosquito, as he is known in the political circles, courted the understanding and patience of those affected, stressing that the leadership is working tirelessly to ensure all loyal members get the opportunity to serve.
The former Member of Parliament warned that if care is not taken, the party will be disintegrated like the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“If we do what we want with the positions we have gotten, our party will be divided like the NPP’s. But I know that will never happen,” he said.
He advised them to avoid inward criticism like the NPP where members are pointing accusing fingers at each other.
“What NPP is now doing is a contest to hell. The flag bearer aspirants are criticising each other and are enumerating the sins and faults of each other.”
The NDC Chairman emphasised the need for unity and discipline within the party to sustain its momentum and avoid the kind of infighting he says is tearing the NPP apart.
