At Obuasi, a suburb of Agogo in the Asante Akyem North municipality of the Ashanti region, a 20-year-old man has allegedly committed suicide by hanging.
Reports indicate he committed the act on Sunday, September 22, 2025, at about 3 p.m.
The deceased, reports indicate, had returned from church with his girlfriend and decided to take a nap after eating. However, the young lady woke up from the nap to see her boyfriend hanged on the ceiling of the room.
The Agogo Police Service and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) rushed to the scene of the incident after an alarm was raised, arriving at the place at about 7 p.m.
The body of the deceased was conveyed by the police to the Agogo Presbyterian Morgue for preservation and autopsy while investigation has been launched into the matter.
