The Upper West Regional Police Command has said it has launched a thorough investigation into the gruesome murder of 55-year-old Yahaya Issah, popularly known as ‘Soja’.
The lifeless body of the deceased [Soja] was discovered on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Wa-Dori, along the new market, with visible injuries and bloodstains on his head and face.
ACP Peter Kamasa, Deputy Regional Police Commander, said a team of Regional Crime Scene experts has been deployed to gather vital evidence to aid in the ongoing investigation.

He said the body of the deceased was taken to the Upper West Regional Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and has since been released to the family for burial in accordance with Islamic tradition.
In a statement issued, the Regional Police Command stated that it has paid a visit to the bereaved family at Dodiyiri community to offer condolences and assure them of a transparent investigation.
The Police have pledged to leave no stone unturned in establishing the facts of the matter and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
The public has been urged to remain calm and vigilant, and to share any relevant information that could support a speedy investigation.
The Police command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining peace in the Region.
