The Tanyigbe Traditional Area in a colourful event has inaugurated their Sorhefiaga “youth leader” of Tanyigbe in Tanyigbe. 

The official event on Friday, September 26 was attended by chiefs, community members of the Tanyigbe area and dignitaries from neighbouring towns including Klave.

The event marked the end of a long-standing vacuum in the Sohefiaga positi on.

In his inaugural address, Sohefiaga outlined his compelling vision for youth development in the area, emphasizing on the promotion of education and a resolute fight against drug abuse.

“Empowering the youth through education will unlock our community’s potential,” he stated”.

“We must also tackle the scourge of drug abuse head-on to ensure a brighter future for our young people,” Sorhefiaga emphasized.

The new Sohefiaga intends to bridge the gap between the traditional council and the youth of Tanyigbe with the initiatives to enhance educational opportunities, skills training, and mentorship programs.

He also plans to collaborate with stakeholders to enhance youth development and support systems for those struggling with substance abuse.

Chiefs and community members expressed optimism about Sohefiaga’s leadership, citing his passion and commitment to the youth development; and his decades of commitment to the Tanyigbe Traditional council where he served diligently in various capacities.

The event concluded with a call to action for all stakeholders to support the youth leader in his endeavors to transform the lives of young people in Tanyigbe.
