The Coalition of Unpaid Newly Posted Teachers is embarking on a protest over their unpaid salaries for over a year.
The Coalition says the government has not paid them a single salary since they commenced work over a year ago after their posting.
They have converged at the Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, staging a demonstration to express their displeasure.
The unpaid teachers say they will not call off their protest until the government gives them what they’re due.
Despite embarking on their daily teaching activities in the classroom after their posting over a year ago, they claim not a single month’s salary has been paid to them.
They will be demonstrating at the Jubilee House and then head to the Ministries of Education and Finance to lay their grievances before the respective authorities.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Clement Abass Apaak, had earlier indicated that the newly recruited teachers were going to be paid soon.
