The school authorities and pupils of Manhean T.M.A. 1 Junior High School in Tema was full of gratitude as they received a wide range of essential items donated by the respected CEO of Cosmo Developers, Nadine Jaber last Monday.
The items donated, included: stationery, books, pens, school bags, student desks, toiletries, and refreshments comprising over 200 packs of Perla mineral water and assorted soft drinks.
The Deputy Director for Monitoring and Supervision at Tema Metropolitan Education Directorate, Christiana Ablakwa in her remarks emphasised the importance of such gestures by corporate organisations to the education and empowerment of the learners.
“When we see companies come to our schools to give us support, I feel so happy because our schools are not private and our students are largely from vulnerable homes with parents struggling so much to make ends meet. Most of our students have turned into parents themselves because after school they have to go and work to get money to buy their learning materials whilst some of them come to school on an empty stomach” she mentioned.
Nadine Jaber, Chief Executive Officer of Cosmo Developers in a heartwarming address during the presentation, stated that this initiative was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility aimed at improving the learning environment and supporting the well-being of students in the communities.
“This donation is not just about supplies, it’s about showing these students that they matter, Education is the foundation of every thriving society, and we at Cosmo Developers are proud to contribute to its growth. My company is trying to make a change to make Ghana more beautiful by constructing buildings that are beautiful. I love to give to the community because the community would give back to me in the future” she explained.
The CEO praised the teachers and management of the school for their hard work and encouraged the pupils to be disciplined and focused. She again pledged to keep supporting educational initiatives across the country, reassuring Cosmo Developers’ commitment to youth empowerment and community development.
The headmistress of the school Gifty Adjoa Mensah noted that the timely donation of the stationery and bags would support students to better engage in their studies. Whilst the desks would ease overcrowding in classrooms, the toiletries and refreshments would also enhance student hygiene and boost morale.
