Two persons suspected to be involved in the robbery and murder of 20-year-old Kofi Mensah at Tweapease-Aboo in the Ashanti region have been arrested by the police.

The two suspects — Solomon Opoku and Collins Aboagye — were arrested in separate operations upon police intelligence. The Assembly Member for the area gave a tip-off to the Bediem District Police Command on October 6, 2025, leading to the arrests.

The Police, in a statement issued Saturday, October 11, 2025, confirmed the death of the victim who was attacked and killed, with his Haojin motorbike stolen.

According to the Statement, suspect Solomon Opoku was arrested at Council Quarters, a suburb of Obuasi when he attempted selling the stolen motorbike four days after the incident. Further investigations led police to Kokotesua, also in Obuasi, where his accomplice, Collins Aboagye, was picked up.

The two suspects who are in custody have both confessed to the crime are going to be arraigned on Monday, October 13, 2025. Meanwhile, the stolen motorbike has been retrieved.
