In a significant display of community and spiritual unity, Sunyanimanhene Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II marked his birthday with a special service at Elim City Church in Sunyani on Sunday.
The Omanhene was accompanied by a distinguished entourage comprising sub-chiefs, queen mothers, members of the Sunyani Traditional Council, family, and friends. He was warmly received by the Apostolic Overseer of Elim City, Dr. Frank Ofosu Appiah, who is visiting from the United States of America, and the Lead Pastor of Elim City Sunyani, Dr. Gospel Odame Kentoe.
In his address, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II expressed profound gratitude to the church for their hospitality. He revealed a deep personal connection to the church, stating, “I was part of the establishment of this church in Sunyani and I will also be a member.” He emotionally noted that this was the first time he had celebrated his birthday in such a grand style, making the occasion particularly memorable.

The Omanhene used the platform to announce the creation of a new educational fund aimed at supporting brilliant but needy students within the Sunyani Traditional Area. He declared that the fund would be officially launched in the coming days, underscoring his commitment to youth development and education.
Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II also issued a passionate plea for partnership, urging the church to join forces with the Traditional Council to combat the scourge of drug abuse, which he identified as a major issue plaguing the youth of Sunyani.
Echoing the proverb that “cleanliness is next to godliness,” he further called on the congregation to help restore Sunyani to its former status as one of Ghana’s cleanest cities.
In a gesture of appreciation and to strengthen ties, the Omanhene appointed the Apostolic Overseer, Dr. Frank Ofosu Appiah, and his entire entourage from the USA, who were present at the service, as ambassadors of Sunyani. He assured them that the city is always open to them and their contributions.
The historic service culminated with Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II, church leaders, Nananom, and family members cutting a birthday cake to mark the occasion. In a special tribute, a 5.7ft portrait of the Chief, along with other gifts, was presented to him.
