The Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, Mustapha Gbande, has tasked appointees in President Mahama’s administration to prioritise the needs of the party’s grassroots over other political parties.
In an interview with 3FM Johnnie Hughes on Thursday, October 16 2025, Mr Gdande explained that “if there are three opportunities, we don’t mind, give one to an NPP grassroots person and give two to an NDC person. But when they see that opportunities are coming and directors of NPP who are still at strategic places are giving to their party people over the NDC faithful, it’s a big problem.”
The NDC’s Deputy General Secretary also urged appointees in the current government to influx the ideology of the party in their daily service to the nation.
“President Mahama has appointed you as a Minister or as a CEO, it is your business to be strategic and infuse the party’s ideology in whatever you do. If you don’t do that and you think you are an island, then you are better off not being in that capacity, no matter how intelligent you are.” He said.
He also called for collaboration between government appointees and party faithful.
“The party people are the ones who have worked to bring this government to power. It doesn’t matter how powerful a person is, it doesn’t matter the position you occupy, minus the party, you are a nobody. So, when you sit somewhere and you don’t remember the party that brought you in, it’s a necessary evil.” Mustapha Gbande stated.
