The Western Central Regional Police Command has launched a manhunt for eight individuals, including a woman, following a murder incident at Dompim in the Nsuaem district that began with a dispute over discarded egg shells.

The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Alhassan Abdul Majeed.

According to a press release from the Regional Police Command, the tragic sequence of events started on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. A verbal altercation broke out between the deceased and a suspect, Daniel Entsuch, after Majeed was allegedly accused of pouring egg shells into a gutter that separates their houses.

The disagreement quickly turned physical but was reportedly quelled and resolved by intervening community members.

However, the situation turned deadly later that same day. Police preliminary investigations indicate that while Alhassan Abdul Majeed was at the scene with the community chairman and a member of the operations committee, a group of approximately fifteen (15) young men, armed with sticks, launched a violent attack.

During the assault, Majeed was struck on the head, rendering him unconscious. He was rushed to the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital for emergency treatment but succumbed to his injuries the following day, Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

Through intelligence gathering, the police have identified key suspects who are now on their wanted list. They are Yaw Mutali, Paa Kwomena, Maame Korkor, Golu, Paa Kwesi, Gogo, and Kesse. The police statement describes them as family members and associates of the initial suspect, Daniel Entsuch.

All named individuals are currently at large, and a widespread search is underway to apprehend them. Meanwhile, two of the suspects have been arrested by the police.

The Police Command, in the release signed by ASP Beatrice Turkson, Head of the Public Affairs Unit, is urging residents to remain calm. They are also appealing for full cooperation from the public to aid in the location and arrest of the perpetrators to “face the full rigours of the law.”

The incident has sent shockwaves through the Dompim community, highlighting how a seemingly minor domestic issue escalated into a fatal confrontation.
