The much-anticipated football showdown between rival clubs Sekondi Eleven Wise FC and Sekondi Hasaacas FC will be a central feature of the 2025 Twin City Festival, sponsored by MTN Ghana.
The match is scheduled for November 19, 2025, at Gyandu Park.
The announcement was made by Akwesi Kwarteng, Mobile Money Implementations Manager for the South-West Business District, on behalf of Prince Owusu Nyarko, the Regional Senior Manager for MTN South West Business, during the official launch of the festival in Takoradi on November 14.
In his address, Mr. Kwarteng emphasized that MTN’s support for the festival and other cultural events across Ghana for over 15 years is rooted in a deep-seated belief in the power of culture.
“Culture is the heartbeat of every community, and at MTN Ghana, we truly believe that keeping that heartbeat strong is essential for building connected and vibrant societies,” he stated.
He explained that festivals are more than just celebrations; they are vital for fostering identity, unity, and economic empowerment by bringing families together, preserving traditions, and creating opportunities for local businesses.
Beyond the football clash, the 2025 Twin City Festival features a lineup of activities, including community forums and health walks. The festival will culminate on November 29 with a Walkathon and a grand music concert, featuring highlife legend Gyedu Blay Ambolley, the Sekondi Band, and award-winning highlife and Afrobeat star Kuami Eugene.
“At MTN, we believe we’re not just a telecom company; we’re a partner in progress. We’re here to make life brighter, not only through connectivity but also through culture and community,” Kwarteng said.
He encouraged the public to actively participate in the festivities and share their experiences on social media using the hashtag #MTNTwinCityFest to showcase the beauty of the local culture and the energy of the people.
The launch event was attended by management of the participating football clubs, masquerade carnival teams, and media partners.
