Delta Air Lines has resumed a non-stop Accra – Atlanta service.
This was announced by the Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in a Facebook post on December 2, 2025.
“I am excited about the re-introduction of Delta Air Lines non-stop flight from Accra to Atlanta (USA) which commenced operations yesterday, December 1, 2025. ”
The daily seasonal service, which started on December 1, 2025, will operate through late March 2026 using the Airbus A330-900neo, equipped with Delta One Suites, Premium Select, Comfort Plus and Main Cabin seating.
With this addition, Delta now serves Accra from two U.S. gateways, its year-round daily New York–JFK route and the new winter service from Atlanta.
The airline explained that the Atlanta flight is a response to high demand from the Ghanaian diaspora, business travellers and tourists, with schedules designed for smooth onward connections across Delta’s extensive U.S. network.
Welcoming the Atlanta-Accra service, the Minister also indicated that Air Transat of Canada will also initiate a non-stop flight between Ghana and Canada on June 17, 2026.
According to Ablakwa, these developments will accelerate Ghana’s economic diplomacy objectives, boost trade and tourism, and offer value and convenience mainly to Ghanaian travellers.
