Legal practitioner, Martin Luther Kpebu, has said his quest to fight for the removal of the Special Prosecutor, William Kissi Agyebeng, has grown stronger, following the treatment meted out to him last week.
Mr. Kpebu, following his commentary in the media about his quest to petition the presidency to oust Kissi Agyebeng, accusing him of being corrupt and failing on his mandate, was invited by the Office.
He had also made comments about the OSP’s failure to extradite former Finance Minister, Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta, from the United States to face prosecution for some charges against him.
According to the OSP, Kpebu was invited to its outfit to come help provide information on Ofori-Atta’s issue since he appeared to know much, judging from his commentaries in the media.
During his second visit to the Office, he was arrested and detained for allegedly obstructing an officer of the OSP from conducting his duties. Kpebu was held for some hours before he was released.
Commenting on his experience a week after his arrest and current developments at the OSP, the renowned lawyer said what he went through has strengthened him to push further for Kissi Agyebeng’s removal.
Speaking on Ghana Tonight on TV3 Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Mr. Kpebu said the law is bigger than any individual or group, indicating that public office is to serve the masses with rule of law, not to lord over others with authority.
“My resolve to continue the fight is even grown stronger. As you fight, corruption will fight you back. Now I’m sure Kissi Agyebeng has seen his smoothness level, he and Albert Akurugu, Sammy Darko, Abraham Ablorh Mensah, they’ve seen their smoothness level. They’ve seen that Ghana is stronger than the four of them combined. That public office is not for a power trip or power play or we’ll show you where power lies.
Meanwhile, Majority Leader and Majority Chief Whip, Mahama Ayariga and Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, have filed a private member’s bill in Parliament to get the Office scrapped.
