A recent survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics reveals that two-thirds of Ghanaians believe the country is moving in the right direction under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama.

This marks a significant increase from the same period in December 2024, when only 36 per cent of Ghanaians shared this view.

Mussah Dankwah, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, disclosed this information on the BigIssue segment on TV3’s NewDay on Friday, December 26, 2025.

According to him, 60 per cent of Ghanaians reported an improvement in their standard of living. The survey also found that a majority of citizens are optimistic about the future.

“If you look at the current perception about where the country is headed, about 66 per cent believe Ghana is headed in the right direction. This figure was about 36 per cent in 2024, around this time,” he said.

“If you look at people’s response about their standard of living, nearly 60 per cent said it has improved compared to last year. If you ask them about their optimism for the future, another 60 per cent said yes, they are hopeful,” he disclosed.

Dankwah attributed this optimism to the current economic sentiments. “This hope is driven by the sentiments they feel about the economy,” he explained.

He added that responses to the survey questions reflected the respondents’ standard of living. “If there’s a warning sign that the economy will tank, they’ll likely be pessimistic about the future. The positive horizon they perceive is reflected in how people feel and respond to the polls.”

The pollster cited macroeconomic indicators such as inflation, where food prices have decreased significantly, as factors driving people’s sentiments. He also mentioned exchange rate stability, which has contributed to reduced prices of goods, particularly imported ones, compared to the previous year.

“At the macro level, inflation and food pricing have come down quite significantly. When linked to imported items, driven by the exchange rate, the strength of the currency has made certain goods very cheap compared to a year ago,” Dankwah explained.
