The Member of Parliament for Bodi and Deputy Minister of Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Sampson Kwame Ahi, has disclosed that government has allocated 3 million Ghana cedis for road construction projects in the constituency in 2026.

He made this revelation during the celebration of the Minyor Festival by the Ewe community at Samansuo in the Bodi district.

Addressing the gathering on Sunday, December 28, 2025, Ahi stated that under the government’s Big Push Agenda, the road from Sefwi Afere through Samansuo and Benusuo to Tikobo has been captured for construction next year.

He assured the people that government is committed to ensuring improved road infrastructure to enhance economic activities and connectivity in rural communities.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that no community can achieve meaningful development without peace and unity. He therefore urged the Ewe community in Bodi to continue living in harmony and work together to promote progress in the area.

He also mentioned that a GETFund project has been approved for the construction of a Junior High School classroom block at Duku Krom, adding that he will ensure the Ewe community benefits from the national development agenda.

The Krontihene of the Ewe community, Nana Yaw Tivu, commended the MP for his continuous support to the people. He, however, appealed for urgent attention to the deplorable Afere Benusuo Samansuo Amoaya road, noting that it becomes impassable during the rainy season, making transportation difficult for residents.

He expressed gratitude that the project has been captured under the Big Push initiative and pleaded for its swift execution before the next rainy season.

Isaiah Asitoakor, a community leader, explained that the Minyor Festival was instituted to promote unity among the Ewe communities in the Bodi District.

He noted that the festival also serves as a platform for the people to draw the attention of government and stakeholders to the developmental challenges confronting their communities.

He added that the festival has helped preserve cultural values among the youth while fostering dialogue for improved development across the district.
