CEO of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Edudzi Tameklo, has said that the very moment the New Patriotic Party (NPP) agreed to have the flagbearer elections before the other internal polls, was the day they surrendered to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

He made the point that former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo “craftily” prepared the infrastructure for Dr Bawumia way back in 2023 to become the flagbearer

“The President Akufo-Addo is a crafty person, he built that infrastructure for Dr Bawumia in 2023,” he said on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday, January 3.

“So the very moment they agreed to having the flagbearer elections first was the day they surrendered the elections to Bawumia,”  he added.

The NPP will be electing their flagbearer for the 2028 elections on January 31.

Also contributing to the discussion, on T3, Vice President of IMANI Africa Kofi Bentil said Dr Bawumia stands aall to win the primaries.

“Today, the only person I will vote for in the absence of Mahama is Bawumia,” he said.

He added “Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is ahead of all the contenders in the NPP flagbearership race. He has been a very relevant politician in Ghana for the past 20 years. He is the best horse for this race.”
