Ghana’s inflation rate for 2025 continued its downward trend for the 12th consecutive month, dropping from 6.3% in November 2025 to 5.4% to end the year.
According to the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), December 2025 data showed that inflation on a month-on-month basis stood at 0.9%, indicating relatively subdued price increases toward the end of the year.
Slowdown in food prices caused the sustained disinflation recorded within the period.
There were slower price increases for key food items as food inflation eased from 6.6% in November 2025 to 4.9% in December same year.
The decline in food inflation contributed significantly to the overall reduction in the inflation rate, offering some relief to households after periods of elevated price pressures.
The continued moderation in inflation suggests improving price stability conditions as the country enters 2026, following a year of consistent declines in consumer price increases.
