An Aspiring National First Vice Chairman of New Patriotic Party, Kojo Bamba has suggested to the leadership of the party to conduct the internal elections with top to-down bottom approach.

In a statement on his Facebook, he believed this is the same structure the party used for the presidential primary, which was conducted successfully and peacefully.

He pointed out that this can guide the party again for its internal elections.

“I wish to respectfully suggest to the newly elected flag bearer, the National Executive Council, and the party’s Election Committee that we adopt a top-to-bottom approach for our upcoming internal elections, beginning from the national level down to the grassroots. This is the same structure we used for the presidential elections, which was conducted successfully and peacefully. And I believe it can guide us again,” he explained.

According to him, starting from the top will help reduce tension and uncertainty within the party. Once leadership at the national level is settled, it becomes easier to manage expectations and unite various factions across the regions, constituencies, and polling stations.

He said this will create clarity, strengthens confidence in the process, and makes reconciliation more practical where differences may arise.

“This approach will also ease the financial burden on the party. A well-sequenced process will minimise logistical pressure, reduce duplication of effort, and save resources. The funds preserved can then be redirected into strengthening the party’s structures and preparing early for the 2028 general elections.

“More importantly, it will promote unity, discipline, and a shared sense of direction after the internal contests. If we remain organised and intentional, we can emerge stronger, more cohesive, and better positioned for victory in 2028,” he added.
